To get the educational license and access the student version, the only requirement is that you attend or teach at a qualified educational institution or act on behalf of one. Once verified, you will get access to the education account and a 1-year license. The account is subject to manual review every year to check if you are still a student or a teacher. If you pass the yearly verification, you can extend the license for another year.

We advise students not to purchase the software required by the Department until fully accepted into the program (after a successful First Year Review). Students should have computers purchased prior to enrollment in Studio I (or during the first few weeks of the semester).

Students must keep the original receipt of purchase of all software. All instructors of course work that use computing media may require students using machines and software not in School computer clusters to provide a copy of the purchase receipt(s) of the relevant application(s). The School requires this to avoid software copyright violations.
